Marine Sciences
A bachelor's degree in Marine Sciences prepares graduates for a wide range of fields through its unique curriculum. Marine Science graduates are excellent scientists who possess the ability to effectively communicate scientific issues not only to fellow scientists but also to the general public.
The core of the curriculum consists of courses that integrate the biological, chemical, geological, and physical components of marine sciences. Students can specialize in a sub-discipline of marine sciences through upper level electives and through independent research with Marine Sciences faculty. Beginning in the first semester, courses in the major include work in many of the region’s various coastal marine habitats. The program is quantitative, practical, and experiential in nature.
