As part of a community with long ties to the military, faculty and staff at UConn Avery Point welcome active military members, veterans and their families to pursue educational goals on this campus. Many veterans call Avery Point their home campus within the University of Connecticut system, while several faculty and staff members have also served. In short, veterans – as faculty, staff, and students – form an important core to the Avery Point community, and the campus is dedicated to supporting service men and women in transitioning back to civilian life.

There is a two-room Veterans Center on the second floor of the Avery Point Library reserved for veteran and active military students to meet and study. Please feel welcome there.

To help veterans and active military, their families, and the faculty and staff they work with, listed below are links to benefits, resources, support groups, and state and federal agencies. For additional information about transitioning to UConn, visit the UConn Veterans Affairs and Military Program page at www.veterans.uconn.edu and find resources like the Admission and Enrollment Checklist, and the on-line Form D, which is required at the start of each enrolled semester.

If you have any questions about services at the Avery Point campus, please feel free to contact Jeanne Martin (jeanne.martin@uconn.edu or 860-405-9017). If you need information about processing benefits, please contact Rob Passmore of the UConn Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs (robert.passmore@uconn.edu or 860-486-1973).
