Computer Accounts

The University of Connecticut is dedicated to using technology where appropriate for instruction and student administration.  Every UConn student is given an email account and all official announcements regarding issues such as grades, library fines, and registration dates are sent to that account.  WebCT, a form of course management software, is used by many instructors to facilitate discussions with students, administer quizzes, and post grades.  It is important that all students become familiar with the various systems in place at the University and be able to access them as needed.

The University technical services department has provided a web site with a summary of the technologies used on campus and how students can access them.  Go to http://techtraining.uconn.edu and learn how you can take advantage of all the UConn has to offer.

If you are having problems with a computer account - HuskyMail, PeopleSoft, or WebCT - contact the UITS Help Desk at 860-486-HELP.

The Avery Point campus has a computer lab for student use on the third floor of the Academic Building (ACD 319).  The computers do not require a special username or password and are available 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to noon on Fridays.  The computer labs on the Storrs campus do require that the users have a University computer account which can be set up at the University Help Center.  The Computer Accounts Desk is located in the Math/Science Building Room M037. The address is:  196 Auditorium Road, Unit 3138, Storrs, CT 06269-3138
